LED Grow Lights

 


Many gardeners and home growers use LED grow lights to help plants thrive in indoor environments. These lights are available in various designs, shapes and sizes to suit any space. They are designed to be energy efficient and produce very little heat. They are also cheaper to run than traditional lighting systems and are safer for the environment. They can be used in conjunction with other types of lighting, including halogens, metal halides and high-pressure sodium lamps.

Full spectrum LED grow lights offer the complete light spectrum that plants need for photosynthesis. This includes all visible wavelengths between 380nm and 740nm (which we see as color), plus invisible wavelengths like infrared and ultraviolet. This allows you to set the light to produce specific wavelengths for periods of time to promote certain growth rates or plant stages.

Unlike regular LED lights, full spectrum grow lights have a wider color range and can better mimic natural sunlight for growing plants. They can emit a wide variety of colors, from white to red to blue, and can change the light spectrum to suit different plant needs. They can also be programmed to provide a specific color of light for different purposes.

Some LED grow lights have switches that allow you to choose the spectral output for each stage of plant growth. This means that you can program your grow lights to switch between R, FR or R+B for flowering plants, VE or VEG for vegetative growth or B only for seedlings and propagated plants. This saves you from having to swap out your lights as your plants develop, reducing the time and costs of changing your lighting system.

LEDs have been used in commercial greenhouses to help increase crop yields and quality. They are a safe and efficient alternative to HPS and MH grow lights. They have the ability to control wavelengths and can produce a large amount of PAR, or photosynthetically active radiation, allowing for maximum growth and fruiting. They are also able to emit more light over a larger area than HPS or MH bulbs.

When choosing a LED Led grow lights   light for your plants, make sure that it is full-spectrum and has high levels of PAR. You want your plants to have the most amount of light possible over a longer period of time so that they can thrive and become healthy, strong and productive.

The amount of time a plant spends under an LED grow light depends on the species, the age of the plant and its desired results. Younger plants need to be under the light for about 18 hours a day, while mature plants need 12-14 hours per day. Some plants may need to be under the light even more than that, depending on their desired result and whether it is for high-yield flowers or fruits.

Too much LED light can lead to nutrient deficiency, especially in the roots of the plant. This can be caused by an overabundance of phosphorous and nitrogen, or from not getting enough calcium and potassium. Some signs of too much light include yellowing or browning leaves, and stunted or spindly growth.
